Social Justice and Political Consciousness
Study and Strategy Circles
we hold twice-monthly political and social justice study circles for people in our community to build deeper understandings of political processes and institutions, and to create direct pathways for engaging in liberation work,
our work of engaging in spiritually informed activism is done largely in these circles. the facilitated conversations and strategy sessions take many forms- storytelling circles, workshops, group readings, documentary watches, organizer trainings, leadership development, and direct grassroots organizing. this space is open to you whether you have engaged in activism or political study before, or not.
this is a for-members space, meaning only members of our organization and community can participate in the study and strategy sessions. Iyali means family in the hausa language. We named the circles for this concept because some shit you can only talk about with family. Liberation work is one of those things.
Syllabus
While the circles are for members only, the syllabus can be downloaded by anyone in our community wanting to engage in social justice from a spiritually-aligned framework, or looking to engage in liberation work that is grounded in frameworks of Divine justice.
The syllabus is a community-curated working document and will be available for first download in March. It will be updated monthly as we continue to grow our canon through our study and strategy circles.
